Choice
Each year, all schools are required to reach goals in reading, math and language usage or graduation rate. The results of the ISAT are used to determine whether our school is making adequate yearly progress (AYP) to meet the goals. Schools that consecutively do not meet goals in a subject area are identified for school improvement. Under the No Child Left Behind Act parents have the opportunity to transfer their child to another school not identified for improvement.

Free Tutoring – Supplemental Educational Services (SES)
Some schools that are in school improvement year two, corrective action or restructuring offer students the opportunity to receive extra tutoring (at no cost to the parent) called supplemental educational services (SES). This tutoring is outside of school hours.
Students who are enrolled at Lake Pend Oreille Alternative High School who are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch can apply for free tutoring. If funds are not available to serve all students who are eligible, we must give priority to the lowest-achieving eligible students.
Parents may choose the tutoring program for their child from the state-approved list available here [http://www.sde.idaho.gov/site/title_one/]. For more information please call Doug Olin at the district office at 208-263-2184.
